Hello, I'm a Physics Ph.D. Student at The Ohio State University! I'm working on particle-in-cell simulations and applying machine learning methods to optimize laser-induced ion acceleration in Dr. Christopher Orban's high energy density physics (HEDP) group. As someone who has studied not only physics, but mathematics and computer science, I have a diverse skillset in quantitative/statistical methods, programming languages, and physical intuitition that has been honed over the course of my graduate degree.   Will graduate from OSU with Ph.D. in Physics.
• Nov 2024
  My first publication!
  Published my first paper in the journal Contributions to Plasma Physics entitled Applying Machine Learning Methods to the Laser Acceleration of Protons: Lessons Learned from Synthetic Data. In this work, we constructed a synthetic dataset based on an existing proton accelerataion model in the literature and compared the efficacy of different machine learning and regression algorithms in their ability to fit the data.

  Erdos Institute Deep Learning Bootcamp
  Used Convolutional Neural Networks with fastai and PyTorch to build a classifier for lung-cancer detection from a Kaggle data set.
• Jul 2024
  R for Data Science Final Project
  As part of a final project for a class at Ohio State, I gathered data from the Olympic Games which was combined with GDP and population data per country. This data was combined, filtered, and merged using the R programming language to analyze how various factors affect a country's success.

  Presented on applying machine learning methods to laser acceleration of protons.

  Passed Candidacy Examination
  Presented on the Physics of Inertial Confinement Fusion at the National Ignition Facility.

  Erdos Institute Data Science Bootcamp
  Analyzed a data set from Kaggle and built a classification model that takes a list of ingredients and predicts 1 of 20 cuisine types.

  Moved to Columbus to start Physics Ph.D. at OSU.

  Finished two semesters of the SULI program at Brookhaven National Laboratory.
  Worked on studying the efficiency of the Variational Quantum Eigensolver algorithm on a quantum computer and studying a quasi-periodic weakly interacting system of cold bosons in one dimension.
